GOPHERS HARRIERS REST TOP RUNNERS, FINISH FOURTH AT PRE-REGIONAL

seMinnesota rested its top runners and finished fourth at the Midwest Pre-Regional Cross Country meet at the Irv Warren Golf Club in Waterloo, Iowa.

Illinois won the meet with 24 points, claiming seven of the 10 spots. Iowa was second with 59 followed by Northern Iowa, 78, and Minnesota, 97.

The Illini's Amber Hunt won the meet in a time of 21 minutes, 27 seconds. The Gophers were led by sophomore Jill Field, who traversed the 6,000-meter course in 23:23 to place 16th overall.

Minnesota is on the road again next Saturday when they will compete at the Arkansas-Little Rock Shootout.
