HARRIGAN SETS 200 RECORD AT IOWA STATE

Freshman Tahesia Harrigan broke her sixth school record of the season Friday on the first day of competition at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.
Harrigan reset her own record in the 200-meter dash, recording a time of 24.41 seconds, surpassing her previous mark of 24.47 set two weeks ago. The winning time was 23.99 by Iowa State's Ola Adetiba. Harrigan has also set the 60-meter dash record each of the four times she has competed this season.
Senior Aubrey Schmitt won the weight throw with a toss of 60 feet, 8 1/ 2 inches. Senior Beth Howard placed third at 59-11 1/4.
Minnesota's distance medley relay team of Laine Misch, Ali Gartner, Tanna-Marie Simmons and Crystal Glenn placed sixth in 12:04.39.
Monica Stearns was Minnesota's top finisher in the pole vault, placing 11th.
The Iowa State Classic concludes on Saturday.
