Women's 4x1600-Meter Relay Places Fifth at Drake Relays

Darja Vasiljeva, Victoria Moses, Laura Bjork and Anita Menden placed fifth with a time 20:09.09 in day one of the 2002 Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday, April 25. Minnesota, who was the reigning champion in the event, broke their time of 20:11.04 set at the 2001 Drake Relays.

Shani Marks finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles preliminaries, running a time of 1:00.22. Marks' finish placed her just out of finals contention, as the top eight advance.

Jill Field and Amy Sas placed 23rd and 26th, respectively, in the 10,000-meter run, marking times of 37:36.83 and 37:59.68.

The Drake Relays continue on Friday and Saturday, April 26-27.
