Men's Golf Takes 15th Place at Toyota Championship

Junior Justin Smith (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) made the biggest Minnesota leap up the leaderboard with a round of eight birdies to three bogeys for a score of 5-under-par 67. The final round moved him up 35 places to tie for 24th at 217 (+1). The 67 ties Smith's career low and is the lowest round for a Golden Gopher this season.
Senior Wilhelm Schauman (Djursholm, Sweden/ Victor Rydberg) carded his second consecutive round of even-par 72 to tie for 28th place with a score of 2-over 218. Fellow senior Matt Anderson (Edina, Minn./Edina) shot a final round of 5-over 77 for a total of 225 (+9) to tie for 61st. Junior Ben Greve (Annandale, Minn./Annandale), competing in his first tournament this season, continued to improve throughout the event with scores of 80-76-74-230 (+14) to finish in 69th place. Junior David Morgan (Rochester, Minn./Robert L. Stevenson) placed 73rd with a total of 233 (+17).
The Golden Gopher men's golf team will next compete Mar. 30-Apr.1 at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz.
