Gophers Move Up in the National Polls

aftThe University of Minnesota men's swimming and diving team moved up in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll, announced last week. The Golden Gophers bump up to the seventh spot after defeating Big Ten rivals, Wisconsin and Purdue.
Holding the top spot in the nation is Auburn, followed by Stanford and Texas. The Georgia Bulldogs, who Minnesota defeated at the Georgia Invite, is ranked sixth.
The Golden Gophers have the highest ranking among Big Ten schools. Michigan is ranked 10th, Wisconsin is ranked 12th, Northwestern, 18th and Indiana, 23rd.
Minnesota is idle until the Big Ten Championships, hosted by Purdue. The league championships take place Feb. 26-28.
