Men's Golf Finishes in Third Place at The Intercollegiate

tournaThe 14th-ranked University of Minnesota men's golf team placed third at The Intercollegiate in Raleigh, N.C. The Golden Gophers shot rounds of 292-283-287=862 (-2) and finished 17 shots behind tournament titleist Duke. Second round leader Kansas finished two shots ahead of the Gophers.

For the second straight week freshman Bronson LaCassie (Camira, Queensland/Kelvin Grove) was the Gophers' top finisher tying for seventh after a 69 on Sunday. He recorded his second straight top-10 finish of the spring at 4-under 212. Senior All-American Justin Smith (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) freshman Clayton Rask (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) tied for 16th at even par 216. Junior Ben Greve (Annandale, Minn./Annandale) tied for 37th at 6-over 222. Senior David Morgan (Rochester, Minn./Robert L. Stevenson) fired an even par 72 in round three and tied for 43rd at 223.
