Minnesota-Illinois Baseball Series Opener Postponed Due to Rain

Saturday,The Minnesota-Illinois baseball series opener in Champaign, Ill. was postponed due to rain on Friday, May 14. The two teams will make up the game with a pair of doubleheaders to be played on Saturday, May 15 at 2:05 p.m. and Sunday, May 16 at 12:05 p.m.

Saturday's doubleheader will feature a nine-inning game that will begin at 2:05 p.m. and then a seven-inning game. The Sunday doubleheader will feature a seven-inning game beginning at 12:05 p.m. and then a nine-inning game, which will conclude the series.

Minnesota gained a half game over Ohio State and Penn State, who both lost on Friday. The Golden Gophers enter Saturday's action in first place at 16-8, while Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan State are all tied for second place at 15-10.

All four games will be broadcast on KSNB (950 AM) and webcast on gophersports.com.
