MGF: Gophers Move Up to 11th in Puerto Rico Classic

themThe University of Minnesota men's golf team moved into a tie for 11th place after two rounds of the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Mar, Puerto Rico. The Gophers shot a second round 292 (+4) to give them a two-round total of 588 (+12), 30 shots behind tournament leader Georgia Tech.

The Gophers were paced by sophomore Bronson La'Cassie in round two. La'Cassie bounced back from a first round 78 with a 4-under 68 today. La'Cassie jumped 50 spots into a tie for 28th at 146 (+2). Junior Ryan Paulson continues to lead the Gopher attack with a two-round total of 143 (-1). Paulson fired a second round 73. Other individual results include, Junior Josh Persons who is tied for 51st at 6-over 150. Sophomore Niall Turner is tied for 63rd at 8-over 152 and senior Ben Greve is tied for 80th at 155. The final round is tomorrow on the par 72, 6945-yard Westin Rio Mar Golf Club.
