MGF: Gophers Finish Seventh at EZ Go Schenkel Invitational

The Minnesota men's golf team finished seventh at the EZ Go Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga. The Gophers carded rounds of 302-283-301=886 (+22) finishing 18 shots behind tournament champion Duke.

Individually, Minnesota was led by sophomore Bronson La'Cassie. La'Cassie, the second round leader, carded a final round 78 to finish 12th at 218. Junior Ryan Paulson and freshman Julian Van Der Vaart tied for 23rd at 222. Van Der Vaart, playing in his first collegiate tournament, fired a final round 73, leading the Gophers. Junior Josh Persons tied for 36th at 225 and senior Ben Greve tied for 59th at 232.

Minnesota travels to Tucson, Ariz., for the National Invitational Tournament on Mar. 27 -29.
