MTF: Brandstatter on Automatic Qualifier Pace in Decathlon

WalTravis Brandstatter scored a first day total of 3,751 decathlon points competing at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. on Wednesday. The Gophers senior currently holds the fifth position in the standings and is on pace to score more than 7,500 points and therefore, automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships in June.

Brandstatter recorded his season's best times and marks in four of five events during Day One, including clocking 11.27 seconds in the 100 meters and 50.24 seconds in the 400 meters.

The final day of the decathlon begins with the 110-meter hurdles at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
