Hardt was named the Big Ten Swimmer of the Week for her performance at the Minnesota Challenge. She is the first Minnesota to garner the honor since Megan Moore earned the award in 2002. Hardt also competed in over four events at the Big Ten Championships, held in February. The junior from Carson City, Nev. Ranked had the top five best times in seven events for the Maroon and Gold.
As a freshman, Livingston was named the Big Ten Diver of the Week after winning the 3- meter diving competition at the Georgia Invite. Livingston followed with a second-place finish at the Big Ten Championships. The Woodlands, Texas native, placed second in the platform event, earning All-Big Ten Second Team honors. She is the first platform diver to earn All-Big Ten honors since Laurie Nelson earned the Big Ten championship in the 1992-93 season.
Senior co-captain Sarah Solfelt was honored with the Dorothy Listina Sheppard Award. The award is given to the swimmer who best demonstrates her qualities of being a life long learner: learning things because they just want to know, values travel and getting to know those who live were you travel and simply enjoys the journey of life. The award was given to Solfelt by the swimming and diving coaching staff.
Katie Wind earned the hardest worker award, while Lindsey St. Martin was voted the most improved. The Gophers had 17 members earn above a 3.5 grade point average this season, earning a spot on the Outstanding Student-Athlete Award. The 17 included Abbie Bowden, Heather Harris, Livingston, Bridget McCoy, Erin O'Neil, Abby Ruess, Solfelt, Valerie Tukey, Wind, Amy Cahoy, Jaclyn Gazvoda, Jennifer Hasling, Cecile Lamour, Cierra Mantz, Carissa Matenaer, Julia Quinn and Emma Sinkler.
Minnesota's team captains have also been named for the 2005-06 season. Bridget McCoy and Sarah Perrott were named captains by their peers.
