Gophers Pick Up Pair of All American Nods on Day Two of 2026 NCAA Championships

ATLANTA, GA. – The University of Minnesota women's swimming and diving program closed the books on day two of the 2026 DI Women's Swimming and Diving Championships today, tallying a pair of All-American honors over six total events.
Elna Widerstrom was named an All-American for her performance in the 1-meter springboard, the second All-American nod of her career. After placing sixth in the preliminary round to move on to the "A" finals, Widerstrom tallied a score of 303.95 to finish in seventh overall in the evening finals session.
Vivi Del Angel earned the sixth All-American nod of her career, earning an All-American Honorable Mention for tallying a score of 275.55 in this morning's 1-meter springboard preliminary round and finishing in 13th place overall.
Katie McCarthy tallied a 31st place finish in the 400 IM preliminary round this morning, recording a final time of 4:11.55.
Day three of the 2026 DI Women's Swimming and Diving Championships is set for tomorrow from the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia. All the action is scheduled to kick off at 9:00 AM (CT).
