MGF: Gophers Selected to Play In NCAA Central Regional

GThe University of Minnesota men’s golf team has been selected to play in the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships Central Regional in South Bend, Ind., on May 19-21. The selection marks the 31st time the Gophers have qualified for the NCAA Championships and 13th straight year the Maroon and Gold have played in a Regional. Minnesota has qualified for 60-team NCAA field each year under head coach Brad James.

The Gophers are the No. 7 seed, one of three Big Ten teams in the region. Purdue is the sixth seed and Michigan State, the automatic qualifier out of the Big Ten, is the No. 8 seed. The event will be played on the par 70, 7,011-yard Warren Golf Course in South Bend and hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
