BB: Minnesota Heads to Big Ten Tournament

Minnesota will pack its bags for the Big Ten Tournament for the first time since 2001. The Golden Gophers, who have hosted the past three Big Ten Tournaments, will travel to Champaign, Ill. for the conference tournament. Minnesota is the No. 6 seed in the tournament after finishing the Big Ten season 17-15. The Golden Gophers will play third- seeded Iowa, who finished 19-13 in Big Ten play, on Wednesday, May 25 at 3:35 p.m. The first game of the day will feature fourth-seeded Michigan (17-12) against No. 5 Ohio State (17-12) at 12:05 p.m. Top-seeded Illinois (20-12) will face the lowest seeded winner from the first two games on Thursday, May 26 at 7:05 p.m. The second-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes will face the highest-seeded winner of the first two games on May 26 at 3:35 p.m. The two losers of the first two games will play on May 26 at 12:05 p.m. This will be the third time that Illinois has hosted the Big Ten Tournament. Minnesota has won the Big Ten Tournament title both times it has been held in Illinois winning it in 1982 and in 1998.
