MGF: Gophers Finish Fourth At Big Ten Championships

All five Minnesota players finished in the top 25 led by sophomore Niall Turner. Turner had a career high finish tying for sixth at 4-under 212 after a 71 on Sunday. Turner's 212 was a three-round career low score for the native of Cork, Ireland. Senior Ben Greve tied for 10th place at 1-under 215. Greve carded a 73 in round three. Junior Josh Persons made the biggest move of the day moving up from 22nd into a tie for 13th with a third- round 70. He finished the tournament at even par 216.
Sophomore Bronson La'Cassie tied for 16th at 1-over 217 and junior Ryan Paulson tied for 24th at 3-over 219. La'Cassie carded a 74 and Paulson a 72 Sunday. Indiana's Jeff Overton was the individual Big Ten Champion tying a 54-hole Big Ten Championship record score of 17-under 199.
Minnesota will qualify for the NCAA Regional Championships at a site to be determined on May 19-21.
