What to Include in a Letter of Introduction

It is important to make your information easy to read and personal. Coaches receive many form letters. If you are really interested in a school, you may want to include unique information. Coaches can tell if a letter is personal and sincere and it will stand out as the coach reads it. For that reason, I have not provided a sample letter as an example.

Things to Include:

  • Your name, age, and grade in school
  • City, State, and name of your high school
  • How long you have played golf
  • What your goals are short and long term for academics and golf
  • What kind of program you are looking for
  • Why you want to attend the college or university
  • Highlights of your best finishes
