WSD: Wind and Hehn Represent Gophers at U.S. Nationals

Former Gopher Keri Hehn also competed at the summer nationals. Hehn finished fifth overall in the 200-meter breaststroke event. In her preliminary time, Hehn finished in 2: 32.59, just making the A Final and placing eighth overall. She bettered her time to 2: 31.13 in the finals, also setting an Olympic Trial qualifying time. Hehn finished her Gopher career in 2003 and is now swimming with the Mission Viejo Nadadores in California.
Minnesota's incoming freshmen Christine Jennings and Yuen Kobayashi competed in the 800-meter freestyle on Wednesday evening. Jennings finished 31st with a time of 8:52.30, while Kobayashi finished 41st in a time of 8:55.30. Incoming freshman Meredith McCarthy also competed at nationals in the 100-meter free. She finished 60th overall with a time of 58.91 in the prelims.
