Gophers Finish 17th at Puerto Rico Classic

Individually, the Gophers were led by junior Bronson La'Cassie. La'Cassie finished tied for 49th at 222 (+6) after carding a 75 today. Freshman Victor Almstrom fired the best round of his collegiate career with a 69 in the final round to move up into a tie for 55th at 224 (+8). Junior Niall Turner shot his best round of the tournament with an even-par 72 and moved move to 72nd at 12-over 228. Senior Josh Persons carded a 77 today and finished a shot behind Turner in a tie for 73rd. Senior Ryan Paulson also shot his best round of the tournament with a final round 75 and was 83rd at 19-over 235.
The Gophers are back in action at the Schenkel EZ-Go Invitational on Mar. 16-18 in Statesboro, Ga.
