Turner Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

University of Minnesota junior Niall Turner was named Big Ten Co-Golfer of the Week today by the conference office. At this past week’s National Invitation Tournament, Turner was the top Gopher finisher, tying for 16th at 1-under-par 215. The Cork, Ireland native carded an opening round 71 and a pair of 72s for his fourth top-20 finish of the season, while helping the Golden Gophers to third place in the nationally-ranked field. Turner shared the award with Brian deBuhr of Iowa.

Minnesota returns to action this weekend at the Augusta State Invitational in Augusta, Ga.
