Discounted Tickets Available for NCAA Wrestling Championships

The University of Minnesota has discounted tickets available for next week’s NCAA Wrestling Championships at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, Mich. Originally $120, all session passes are now being sold for $100. Large blocks of seats are available.

Fresh off their second straight Big Ten title, the Gophers are the favorite to win the national title in Detroit. Minnesota had nine wrestlers qualify for NCAAs, including 2007 Big Ten Champions Jayson Ness, Dustin Schlatter, C.P. Schlatter Cole Konrad.
The 2007 NCAA Wrestling Championships will kick off on Thursday, Mar. 15 and go through the finals on Saturday, Mar. 17.
The University of Minnesota will be holding socials open to all Gopher fans following both the Friday and Saturday sessions at the Detroit Marriot Pontiac at Centerpoint hotel. Tickets for the socials will be available at the door.
Following is a complete schedule of events for the 2007 NCAA Wrestling Championships.

Session 1
Thursday, March 15 – 11 a.m. – 8 Mats
• Pigtails and First Round
Session 2
Thursday, March 15 – 6:30 p.m. – 8 Mats
• Preliminaries; wrestleback preliminaries, as needed; wrestleback first round
• Consolation pigtail championship round
• Consolation round
Session 3
Friday, March 16 – 11 a.m. – 8 Mats
• Quarterfinals on middle four mats; wrestleback second and third rounds on outside mats
Session 4
Friday, March 16 – 7 p.m. – 6 Mats
• Semifinals on inside two mats (one weight at a time) and wrestleback fourth round on outside four mats; wrestleback fifth round on all six mats.
Session 5
Saturday, March 17 – 10 a.m. – 6 Mats
• Wrestleback semifinals (two weights at a time) on all six mats; followed by 3rd, 5th and 7th place medal round matches on all six mats (one weight class at a time on three mats, alternating the sides of the arena for the various weight classes).
Session 6 – Championship Finals & Awards Ceremony
• Saturday, March 17 – 8 p.m. – 1 Mat
