Minnesota Selected to NCAA North Central Region Championships

The makeup of the 2007 North Central Region Championships is as follows, in order by seeding, with national rankings in parenthesis ( ) followed by each team's Regional Qualifying Score (RQS):

Individuals - Elise Wheeler (Southern Utah) AA, Leah Sakhitab (Southern Utah), Katie Burke (Iowa) AA, Kara Pinjuv (Iowa) AA, Katie Turcott (Iowa) AA, Jennifer Simbhudas (Iowa) Vault, Kellie Dangerfield (Southern Utah) Uneven Bars, Kellie Dangerfield (Southern Utah) Balance Beam, and Jennifer Simbhudas (Iowa) Floor Exercise.
Six teams, five all-around competitors (who are not on a qualifying team) and one individual event specialist per event (who has a minimum qualifying score of 9.4) were named to each of the six national regions. The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 26-28, hosted by the University of Utah.
Minnesota has competed at an NCAA Regional Championship in each season since 1996. The program’s highest regional finish was second in 2002, when the Gophers earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
