Postcard #15 Monday, July 30

Welcome to the Golden Gophers’ Summer 2007 Fun in the Sun series. A new Gopher player or coach will be featured every day for the next couple of weeks. We hope you enjoy a glimpse of how your favorite Golden Gophers are spending the summer.

Go Gophers!

Hi Gopher fans!

Over the July weekend, a bunch of girls from the team went across state to Wisconsin Dells for a night of fun and games. The first night there was spent at a cute little cabin community in a place called Jelly Stone. Here some played mini golf, went to the water park, while others including myself napped due to the long car ride there. That night we all ate in the hotel part of the park and played Catch Phrase.

The next morning we awoke early and drove the one hour into the Dells to eat at the Paul Bunyan restaurant, which is a cute little place were you eat using the olden day metal plates, and sit at long wooden benches, just like one of the workers. Here we feasted on doughnuts, eggs, ham, biscuits and gravy, sausages and pancakes until our little hearts were content.

After breakfast we split up into two groups with one group going to Noah’s Ark, the water park, and the other going to Mount Olympus, which also included some rides. I was in the group that went on the rides. Here we went on the roller coasters, which I am not to fond of so I had hold of Kay's hand pretty tight, and also went on some go-carts, which was a lot of fun. Then as the day got later we got back in the car and drove the long drive back to the cities.

All in all the weekend was a big success and was enjoyed by everyone that went.
