Gopher Novice Action Competes In North Star Challenge

The University of Minnesota novice rowers competed at the North Star Challenge, today, at the Minnesota Boathouse. St. Thomas won the Varsity Eight competition with a time of 16:02, while Minnesota's A boat of coxswain Shannon Volkey, Courtney Podritz, Quinn Anderson, Maddy Bourgeois, Leah Rogotzke, Alli Fast, Caitlin Boon, Brittany Storoz, Laura Salzman finished second in 16:18. Minnesota's B boat of Steph Shodis, Julie Pozner, Kristi Anderson, Emma Porter, Yasmin Khan, Sarah McKenzie, Grace Lorig, Tasha Randall, Kari Eloranta placed fourth overall in 16:50. Minnesota's D boat of coxswain Sara Baldvins, Liz Farmer, Christina Igbavboa, Aileen Flynn, Rachel Peterson, Heidi Page, Brenna Franzmeier, Amanda Turnwall and Kirstin Koenig won the novice action.
