Lindsay Whalen Named to All-WNBA Team

Former Golden Gopher All-American Lindsay Whalen capped her finest professional season with the Connecticut Sun by being named to the All-WNBA First Team. Whalen was second in MVP voting to LA Sparks rookie Candace Parker.
Whalen led the Sun to the WNBA playoffs by averaging 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game, becoming just the second player to averaging in double figures in scoring and with 5.0 or more rebounds and assists per game. She topped the WNBA in assists in 2008.
Others named to the All-WNBA First Team were Diana Taurasi, Lisa Leslie, Sophia Young and Parker.
