Minnesota Postgame Quotes
vs. Michigan

Head Coach Don Lucia

On Michigan’s performance
“Michigan was the aggressive team from the start. They dictated tempo and they were better at every facet of the game. They deserved the win tonight. Michigan is a good skating team and moves the puck very well.”

On changing the lines
“I really liked the way that some of the lines looked in practice. However, five minutes into the game I had to throw them out the window and we pretty much had 10 forwards for the rest of the game.”

On Minnesota’s defense
“It wasn’t Alex Kangas’ finest hour. Our best player tonight was Kent Patterson. It was good to see Kent get some game time and I thought he played well. We gave up a bunch of scoring chances and we were soft in our own end. It’s the first time I’ve seen us play soft the whole year. We’ll see how we will respond tomorrow.”

On Minnesota’s offense
“We talked about getting back together as a unit. For a while we weren’t played as a unit of five and we were out of sync. We generated some chances and they had some nice saves.”
