Gopher Softball Doubleheader With Purdue Canceled Due to Rain

Sunday afternoon's scheduled softball doubleheader between Minnesota and Purdue has been canceled due to constant rain and poor field conditions at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium. The doubleheader was changed to one game midway through the afternoon, but both games were scrapped at 5 p.m. when the weather did not relent.
Big Ten rules prohibit any Sunday games from beginning after 5 p.m.
The games were scheduled to be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. Minnesota's next Big Ten Network action will be their April 20 doubleheader against Iowa in Iowa City.
The Gophers (21-10, 4-2) return to action this Friday when they host Penn State at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium. That game will get underway at 6 p.m.
