Gopher Rowing Walks For ALS

The University of Minnesota rowing team participated in the ALS Walk, Saturday. The Gophers held their morning workout and participated in the event, which was located at Lake Harriet. Of the 41 varsity rowers, 39 participated along with head coach Wendy Davis. Around 5,000 people walked in the event, including the Gopher rowing program.The team walked in honor of Mikaela Rogers dad, Brad, who was dignosed with ALS in February of 2007.

The ALS Association is the only non-profit organization fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease on every front. By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.
