Pisani in Second, Gophers Tenth at Windon

Minnesota shot a 308 to sit in tenth place after the first round of the Windon Invitational in Skokie, Ill. The University of Michigan shot a 293 and is clinging to a three-shot lead over Eastern Michigan after 18 holes of play. Minnesota sits one shot behind ninth-place Coastal Carolina and three shots behind California.

Brandon Lemons of Eastern Michigan is the lone player under par with a two-under 69 on the par 71 Skokie Country Club. Minnesota's Ben Pisani continued his strong start to the season and is tied for second with a 72, three strokes back of Lemons.

Thomas Campbell is currently in a tie for 30th after an opening round 76. Frederick Van Rooyen is T-40 with a 77. Derek Chang and Cameron White round off Minnesota's weekend roster with scores of 81 and 82 respectively.

Minnesota finishes the invitational today and looks to move up the leaderboard over the last 36 holes.
