Former Gophers Just Miss Out on Exemption

Ex-Gopher Bronson La'Cassie missed qualifying for his PGA Tour Card by one shot in the final stage of the PGA's Qualifying School. La'Cassie, who finished at 8-under par through the six rounds, was just outside the mark, as the top-25 and ties earned their card.
He will join fellow Gopher Justin Smith as a full-time member on the Nationwide Tour. Smith, who finished 75th on the 2009 Nationwide Tour money list to earn exemption, missed out on the final round of Qualifying School after being eliminated in the second round of qualification.
On the European Tour side, ex-Gophers Victor Almstrom and James McLean will have status on the European Challenge Tour. They both missed out on full-time exemption on the European Tour, but will have status on their version of the Nationwide Tour.
