The Minnesota baseball program will have three games broadcast on the Big Ten Network according to an announcement by the network on Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Minnesota’s first appearance on the Big Ten Network will be on Friday, Apr. 24 at 6:35 p.m. (CT) against Purdue at Siebert Field.

The Golden Gophers’ second and third television appearances will come at Penn State on the final weekend of the Big Ten season on Friday, May 15 at 5:30 p.m. (CT) and Saturday, May 16 at 1 p.m. (CT).

Minnesota’s matchup against Purdue will be the first between the two teams at Siebert Field since 2004 when the Golden Gophers won three of four against the Boilermakers. That year, Minnesota also defeated Purdue 6-1 in the Big Ten Tournament. The Golden Gophers were swept at Purdue in 2005, but defeated the Boilermakers in the Big Ten Tournament the same year. Minnesota also dropped a four-game series at Purdue last year as well.

The Golden Gophers will be meeting Penn State at Medlar Field for the first time 2007 when they were the first Big Ten opponent at what was then the new ballpark. Minnesota split a four-game series with Penn State at Siebert Field last year to end the season.

This year, the Big Ten Network will broadcast 30 regular-season baseball games. The network will also broadcast every game of the Big Ten Tournament, which will be played at Huntington Park in Columbus, Ohio.
