Kari Schmidt chipped in a second-place showing in the shot put with an effort of 48-2.

The young corps of Gopher sprinters continued their assault on the Minnesota top-10 lists. Freshman Nyoka Giles ran the fourth-best time in school history in the 200-meter dash, 24.47 seconds, placing sixth. She finished seventh in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.63, the seventh-best time in Gopher history.

Adrienne Thomas finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with her best time of the season, 55.76 seconds. That time is the No. 6 time in Minnesota history.

Giles was joined by teammates Kylie Peterson and Chimerem Okoroiji in posting top-10 times in the 60 meters. Peterson ran her season-best time of 7.66 seconds for the No. 8 time on the list, while Okoroiji clocked a time of 7.71 seconds which is No. 10 overall.
