Gophers in a Three-Way Tie for 13th

The University of Minnesota men's golf team carded a combined score of 7-over par 295 Saturday and is in a three-way tie for 13th after 36 holes of the NCAA Shootout in Rio Mar, Puerto Rico.
Gopher senior Victor Almstrom shot an even-par round of 72 to lead Minnesota and is in a tie for 25th place individually. Almstrom opened the shootout with a 73 on Friday. Junior Ben Pisani improved on his opening round 74 by a stroke and is in a tie for 40th place with a 36-hole score of 147. Freshman Derek Chang is in a tie for 57th while Thomas Campbell and Yu Katayama are in a tie for 69th place with scores of 159.
Georgia holds a seven-shot lead over Clemson after a second round combined score of 275. North Carolina State (567), Oklahoma State (568) and Georgia Tech (572) round out the top five. Georgia Tech held the team lead after Friday’s opening round.
Individually, Dylan Fritelli (-13) of Texas holds a six-shot lead over Georgia’s Hudson Swafford after a second-round 64.
The third and final round is scheduled to get underway at 8:00 a.m. Central.
