Opening Statement
“I thought St. Cloud State came out with a lot of energy, like we knew they would. That first goal was very important for us. Once we were up I thought that we did a great job at being patient and working the puck around for clear shots. With Alex (Kangas) being on his game all weekend it really helped us offensively to be much more patient.”
On his players playing at a high level
“The goaltender makes a big difference in games and with Alex (Kangas) stepping up this weekend it really helped our team overall. I am confident in his play, and around this time last year he stepped up his play like he did this weekend. Our playmakers were able to step up and use his success in the net, and turn it into points on the other end.”
On going 6-0 against St. Cloud State this season
“St. Cloud State is an outstanding team and program. To go 6-0 against a team like that is a tremendous accomplishment for this program. It might have been the matchup, but I’m not really sure but we just seemed to have their number this year.”

“It was great to see the way we shut them down all weekend. It was nice to get some real quality victories over a very talented team. It’s not easy to shut those guys down, and our team really played well this weekend to hold them off. I’m really proud of the job our team did this weekend.”

“We needed to start here, and it was great the way we came out on top. We’ll see what happens in the future, but we needed this one to move forward. Our team was able to get the job done tonight and we know that next week will be tough, but we’re excited and playing pretty well right now.”
