Gophersports.com will periodically feature rowing student-athletes in a question and answer session. The second Q & A session is with senior Allison Fisher.

The most challenging thing I’ve had to do in college so far is:
Passing Chemistry. It darn-near ruined me.

My most memorable sports experience was:
Most memorable sports experience has been racing in the 1V at the Princeton Chase this fall. We raced a fantastic race, and it was a incredible to experience the East Coast rowing culture.

What advice would you give to younger student-athletes?
Don’t do too much! You can have so much fun doing to few things, and you will be less stressed out if you do. Leave yourself plenty of free time, and learn to enjoy it!

What has been your funniest road trip memory so far?
Ugh, I hate them all because I get so sick when we travel in those big busses.  Dramamine is my best friend, and I love when we race at home.

Something that most people wouldn’t have known about me is:
I’m a big scardy-cat.  I can’t sleep in my apartment by myself, and if I have to, I sleep on the couch with all the lights on and the TV blaring.

If you were stranded on a desert island and you could bring three things, what would it be?
I would bring a set of dumbbells because I could keep myself busy for hours writing and completing new workouts. I guess I would also bring a bar of soap then, too, since I’ll be working out all day. And I would bring a friend, because God knows I would not be able to get a wink of sleep if I were totally by myself.

My teammates would describe me as:
Dedicated and determined.  I think a lot of them respect me for how hard I have worked over the last three years, and are genuinely happy and supportive with my success this season.

If I could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be and why?
I would trade places with Stephanie Bakkum because she always has the best stories to tell, and I would just love to actually experience one of them first hand!

Favorite meal:
My absolute favorite meal to eat is whole-wheat blueberry pancakes (with protein powder mixed in), with warm pure maple syrup on top.  Yummy!
