Ben Pisani has led the Gophers in stroke average for most of the 2008-09 campaign and that stat will continue. The Minnesota junior tied a career-low 54-hole score by carding a 5-under par 211 to finish in a tie for 12th individually at the Administaff Augusta State Invitational.

The Gophers opened the tournament with back-to-back rounds in the 280's on Saturday, but unfortunately for the locals, Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia was not kind during the third round. Minnesota shot a combined score of 306 to finish in 16th place.

Augusta State won the event with a 54-hole score of 36-under par 828, 13 shots better than Tennessee-Chattanooga and 15 shots over third place Kent State. ASU's Taylor Floyd used a second-consecutive 67 on Sunday to take medalist honors by four strokes over Chattanooga's Derek Rende.

Senior Victor Almstrom posted a 75 on Sunday to finish at 4-over par 220. Junior Thomas Campbell was three shots off of a season-low, as he finished at 6-over 222 while freshman Derek Chang carded a 9-over 225 in his return to Georgia, his home state. Justin Kaplan rounded out the Gophers lineup with a 232.

The Gophers will conclude the regular-season on April 11-12 at the Robert Kepler Invitational in Columbus, Ohio before heading to the Big Ten Championships on May 1-3 at Brick Boilermaker Golf Club in West Lafayette, Indiana. Minnesota finished second at last year's championships.
