Gophers Hold First Practice On Home Course
4/6/2009 12:00:00 AM | Rowing
The University of Minnesota rowing team competed on its home spring course at Lake Phalen on Sunday morning. Although the Gophers have been on the river and on Medicine Lake, Minnesota was on the Lake Phalen water for the first time in 2009.
The Gophers practiced on the lake early on Sunday morning as an inch of snow came down. The chilly, snowy weather didn't stop the Gopher varsity crew as they practiced for an hour and a half on the water. The snow melted by the afternoon in the 40 degree weather.
Minnesota is preparing for the Double Duals this Saturday. Minnesota will face Indiana, Notre Dame and Brown this weekend in Columbus, Ohio.
