Gophers Set to Compete at Double Duals

The No. 18 University of Minnesota rowing team will travel to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the Double Duals, Saturday, April 11. The Golden Gophers will have their full squad there, both novice and varsity, competing against Notre Dame, Indiana and Brown. Host school Ohio State will also compete in the double duals, but will not compete against the Maroon and Gold this weekend.
IN THE POLLS
The University of Minnesota rowing team is currently ranked 18th in the country, making them the fifth Big Ten team to be ranked in the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/USRowing poll. Michigan is ranked fourth overall, followed by Michigan State in fifth, Wisconsin in ninth and Ohio State in 12th. Minnesota's competitor, Brown, holds an eighth-place ranking.
SCORING FOR BIG TEN COMPETITION
Scoring for Big Ten competition should be determined as follows:
18 points for winning 1V8 boat; 9 points for second-place 1V8 boat
12 points for winning 2V8 boat; 6 points for second-place 2V8 boat
6 points for winning 1V4 boat; 3 points for second-place 1V4 boat
4 points for winning 2V4 boat; 2 points for second-place 2V4 boat
4 points for winning 1N8 boat; 2 points for second-place 1N8 boat
2 points for winning 2N8 boat; 1 point for second-place 2N8 boat
The winner of the 1V8 boat shall serve as the tiebreaker.
The following boats must be filled: 1V8, 2V8, 1V4, 2V4. There shall be no penalty assessed to a team that does not bring a 2N8 boat.
If three of the four competitors bring 2N8 boats, scoring shall be done by comparing the head-to-head results with the two other teams.

Listed below is the full schedule and lane draw for this weekend's Double Duals. Minnesota begins action as early as 9 a.m. (2N8) and as late as 2:40 p.m. (1V8) with a lunch break in between the two sessions.
