Moravec To Join Gopher Gymnastics

University of Minnesota head men’s gymnastics coach Mike Burns has announced the signing of Jesse Moravec (Rochester, Minn.) to an acceptance of admission. Moravec will join the Gophers for the 2009-10 school year.
Moravec recently competed at the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic National Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio. Moravec posted an impressive 25th-place finish in the all-around competition at the Junior National meet.
“Jesse Moravec may have been the biggest surprise of the year with his 25th-place finish in the all-around,” Burns said. “He also just missed the event finals on the still rings as well. So he should provide some needed depth on rings as a freshman.”
Two other future Gophers also competed at the Junior Olympic Nationals. National Letter of Intent signees Harris Coleman (Gainesville, Fla.) and Josh Wokurka (Lombard, Ill.) also took part in the event.
