Try Out for The University of Minnesota Women’s Rowing Team
Rowing at the U began as a varsity sport in 2000. It is the one sport on campus in which athletes are able to learn the sport once already at the U and compete as a member of the Novice Squad for the first year of their competitive career.
Ways to find out more about the Women’s Rowing Team
Join us at the Boathouse on Monday, September 7th for an Open House:
Visiting the Boathouse gives you a chance to see where the team trains and what the boats look like. It is also a good time for you to talk with the coaches and current student-athletes about what the tryouts are like and what being on the team requires.
Come to one of the Informational Meetings at the Boathouse:
You can attend any ONE of these sessions--they are offered at different times so hopefully one fits your schedule!
Tuesday, Sept. 8th at 6:30 PM
Wednesday, Sept. 9th at 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM, or 6:30 PM
Thursday, Sept. 10th at 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM
These sessions will be followed by our first practice sessions on Friday afternoon and Saturday Morning.
The team will practice 6-days a week and all of the team's practices are in the afternoon (except for Saturday AM). In the fall, we run 2 or 3 practice sessions each day to try and make sure there is at least one time each day that folks can make, and you can come at different times each day if need be.
Practices:

3:45-5:15PM
5:15-6:45PM
Saturday

10:00 – 11:30 AM
(there may be adjustments for home football Saturdays)
