Maroon Defeats Gold 10-4

The Maroon Team defeated the Gold Squad 10-4 to take a 3-1 lead in the Steak N' Beans Series on Friday, Oct. 8 at Siebert Field.
In the first two innings, the Maroon team scored five runs to jump out to a 5-0 lead on the way to the six-run victory. Trip Schultz (Forest Lake, Minn.) led the way going 2-for-3 with a run and four RBI. Troy Larson (Maplewood, Minn.) drew three walks and scored three times as well for the Maroon team. Nick O'Shea (Blaine, Minn.) was also 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI, while Andy Henkemeyer went 1-for-3 with two runs.
TJ Oakes (Jordan, Minn.) picked up the win for the Maroon team, as he went three innings, gave up three hits and one unearned run. Tim Ryan (Eagan, Minn.) gave up two hits and one run in two innings, while Luke Rasmussen (Northfield, Minn.) gave up three hits, two unearned runs and struck out three batters in two innings of work.
Ryan Abrahamson (Oakdale, Minn.) paced the Gold team, as he went 3-for-3 with three RBI. Justin Gominsky (Mahtomedi, Minn.) went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, while Kyle Geason (Eden Prairie, Minn.) was 2-for-3 with two runs and a double.
Kevin Kray (Maple Grove, Minn.) gave up five hits, four earned runs, walked two and struck out two in 2.2 innings, as he took the loss.
