Gold Squad Forces Game Seven

The Gold team defeated the Maroon team 6-4 to force a seventh game of the Steak N' Beans Series on Friday, Oct. 15 at Siebert Field.
Kyle Geason (Eden Prairie, Minn.) led the way going 2-for-3 with a run, a double and three RBI, while Kurt Schlangen (Albany, Minn.) finished 1-for-2 with two runs. Bobby Juan (LaCrosse, Wis.) was also 1-for-3 with a run. Dan Olinger (Great Falls, Mont.) and JT Canakes (Eden Prairie, Minn.) also scored runs for the Gold team.
Phil Isaksson (Eau Claire, Wis.) picked up the win as he gave up four hits, three runs, walked one and struck out a batter in 2.2 innings. Scott Matyas (North Prairie, Wis.) picked up the save as he pitched two shutout innings of relief.
Ethan Liederman (New York, N.Y.) was 2-for-3 with a run and a double, while Andy Henkemeyer (Sauk Rapids, Minn.) went 2-for-3 with an RBI. David Bettenburg (St. Paul, Minn.) reached base three times and was 2-for-2. Billy Soule (Hamel, Minn.) also went 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Troy Larson (Maplewood, Minn.) was 1-for-3 with a run.
TJ Oakes (Jordan, Minn.) took the loss, as he gave up four hits and three earned runs in three innings of work. Tim Ryan (Eagan, Minn.) pitched two shutout innings with a pair of strikeouts, and Luke Rasmussen (Northfield, Minn.) went one scoreless inning.
The final game of the Steak N' Beans Series will take place on Oct. 16 at 12 p.m. at Siebert Field.
