University of Minnesota wrestling alum and 2007 All-American C.P. Schlatter won the 66 kg/145.5 lbs. title at the 2010 New York Athletic Club Greco-Roman International on Sunday as the U.S. swept all seven gold medals.

Schlatter scored a technical fall (7-0, 7-0) in his opening match against John Marsh before earning a pair of decisions against Firdavs Rajabov (4-1, 5-0) and Ben Sanchez (1-0, 3-1) to advance to the championship match against Mikhail Smirnov.

After dropping the first period 0-1 to Smirnov, Schlatter took the second period 5-0 before recording the pin at 1:33 of the third period to capture his first major Senior-level Greco-Roman title since returning to the mat

"C.P. Schlatter looked really good. For being back in Greco for just a few weeks, he made great improvement and had a nice performance today," U.S. National Greco-Roman Coach Steve Fraser told USA Wrestling.

"Overall, it was a good day for our Greco-Roman program. People got a lot of matches. Most of these guys will leave for Finland or Belarus within a week for another tour. This was a good tune up event to get ready for the international season."
