Gophers Ranked No.3 in Latest Poll

Minnesota's first home dual of the year this Sunday will feature two of the premiere wrestling programs in the country, according to the latest NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll. Minnesota, ranked No. 3 in the nation, will host No. 2 Oklahoma State on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Sports Pavilion.

Cornell remains the top-ranked team in the country while Big Ten rivals Wisconsin and Penn State round out the top five. Iowa and Boise State sit tied for sixth in the latest poll with Oklahoma ranked eighth, Illinois ranked ninth and Virginia Tech sitting at 10th. After going 1-2 at the Northern Quad this weekend including a 21-17 loss to Minnesota, Central Michigan fell from ninth to 11th.

This Sunday's matchup between the Gophers and Cowboys will feature two of the top teams in college wrestling history. The pair of programs has combined for seven NCAA Division I team championships in the last ten years while both teams rank in the top five for total team titles won.
