Team Enjoys Evening at the Antoine's

Monday evening was not Thanksgiving, but senior guard China Antoine was thankful to be able to return to her family's home in Madison, Ala., and members of Minnesota's travel party who visited Antoine's home sure ate like it was Thanksgiving Day.

Minnesota (7-4) is in Huntsville for its game this evening at 7:30 p.m. (CST) versus Alabama A&M (3-3), and Antoine's home is only about 10 minutes away from the team's hotel. So, shortly after Minnesota's flight arrived and the team dropped its luggage at the hotel, they got back on the bus and traveled to the home of Nicholas and Maxine Antoine.

Antoine was greeted with a large "Welcome Home China Antoine" sign in her front yard, and the food inside was nothing short of amazing. The Antoine family and friends had prepared barbequed chicken, ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, ham, jambalaya, macaroni and cheese, various salads, all sort of appetizers, and desserts galore. It was incredible, and the team enjoyed a fun-filled evening hanging out at China's house.

Tonight, the Gophers and Bulldogs meet on the court, and Minnesota will be hoping for lots of highlights. But, at least so far, the highlight of the trip has definitely been receiving the Antoine family's "Southern hospitality," and the Minnesota program is thankful that China's a Golden Gopher.
