Steenvoorden Takes Silver at AT&T Nationals

Minnesota junior Ashley Steenvoorden swam to a second-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the 2010 AT&T Short Course National Championships in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday. Steenvoorden clocked a season-best and NCAA “B” qualifying time of 16 minutes, 1.33 seconds.
Senior Jillian Tyler swam in her second championship final of the weekend in the 200 breast. Tyler placed ninth in a time of 2:11.37.
Also competing on Saturday was Megan Braun, who posted a time of 2:04.40 in the 200 butterfly prelim.
The Gopher divers traveled with the Minnesota men’s team to the Georgia Invitational. Kelci Bryant won the 1-meter diving with a season-best score of 341.60.
