GSS Highlights Sarah Erickson

12/9/2010 12:00:00 AM | Women's Hockey

Gopher Sports Spotlight visited Ridder Arena to talk with Golden Gopher women’s hockey forward, Sarah Erickson, a junior from Roseau, Minn. Like so many Gophers ahead of her, Sarah has used international competition – she was a member of the U.S. team at the Four Nation’s Cup in early November – to improve her skill and return to her Minnesota squad with a new sense of confidence.

Sarah is tied for the Gopher lead in goals scored this season with seven. She has lit the lamp a total of 35 times in her Minnesota career. As an upperclassmen and an assistant captain on a youthful squad, she sees scoring and leadership as important roles for her to fulfill for the Gophers to be successful.

Minnesota hosts Ohio State on Friday and Saturday, the Gophers’ final series of the 2010 calendar year. The teams drop the puck at 6 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
