Samantha Sonnenberg Earns All-America Honors

Golden Gopher junior Samantha Sonnenberg cleared a career-best height of 14 feet, 1 1/4 inches to place seventh and capture her first career All-America accolade at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. The vault was Sonnenberg’s first time clearing 14 feet and improves on her second-best height in Minnesota history.
Senior Alicia Rue was expected to compete for a national title in the event but did not clear a height. Rue passed on the opening height then missed three attempts at 13-5 1/4.
