The University of Minnesota rowing team volunteered with the Feed My Starving Children last month. The Gophers collectively made over 11,000 meals and made enough to feed 30 kids for one year.

The rowing team packaged meals that will be shipped out to more than 60 countries, including Haiti, Sudan, Jamaica, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Tanzania, Lesotho, Liberia, Ghana, Guatemala, Malawi, Cambodia, East Timor, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Cameroon, Niger, Colombia and El Salvador.

The rowing team packaged food that includes: Rice, extruded soy nuggets, vitamins, minerals and a vegetarian chicken flavoring (to give growing children the critical nutritional elements they need) and dehydrated vegetables for flavor and nutrition.
