Fornasiere Receives Frank Kara Integrity Award

Minnesota Assistant Head Baseball Coach Rob Fornasiere has received the 2010 Frank Kara Integrity Award.
The criteria of the award state that the recipient must be a University employee or representative of the University’s athletic interests, and must have provided outstanding service to the University of Minnesota’s Intercollegiate Athletic Department in a manner that exemplifies integrity, honesty and character.
The previous recipients of the award were Jean Freeman (2007-08) and Rich Weinberg (2008-09). Fornasiere is in his 25th year with Gopher Baseball, and has been part of eight Big Ten first place finishes in the regular-season and six postseason tournament titles. In 2008, Fornasiere also receive ABCA National Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
"We are very proud to present this award to Rob (Fornasiere)," said Minnesota Director of Compliance JT Bruett. "From my playing experience under Rob and through working with him in my current position, I can attest to his personal attributes of integrity and honesty that were characteristic of Frank Kara during his time as Director of Compliance ."
