Gophersports.com: You’re coming to Minnesota after a few successful years at Warner. Can you talk about your former school and your experience there?
Sarah Davis: “Warner Hockey School was a great prep school. It helped me prepare to University life as I moved away from home for the past two years. It was a really great experience. You get to meet friends you'll have for a lifetime and travelling all over North America to play.”
GS: You played with fellow teammate Baylee Gillanders at Warner. Is it nice to have some people you know coming to Minnesota?
SD: “I am so fortunate to have Baylee attending Minnesota with me. “She's a great player and friend. It should make the experience more comfortable starting off knowing someone.”
GS: One last question about Warner. Did you know former assistant Jamie Wood at Warner and then through the recruiting process and was it hard to hear that he’s moved on to coach at New Hampshire?
SD: “I never had Jamie coach me personally at Warner, but he did start the program. He seemed like a really great coach and person as I got to know him through the recruiting process. I was disappointed that I won't have the opportunity of being coached by him when I’m a Gopher, but looking forward to my soon to be college experience.”
GS: What would you say are realistic goals coming into your freshman year?
SD: Coming into my freshman year I really want to experience the game at an elite level. I’d like to start off my four years attending the University with good grades and to find something I’m really interested in doing as a career.”
GS: When you’re done with your Gopher hockey career, what would you like to have accomplished, both individually and as a team?
SD: “When I'm finished my Gopher hockey career, I would like to become a better hockey player. As a team, I hope I can feel what it's like to win a national championship at some point.”
GS: What would you like to major in while at Minnesota?
SD: “My major is still undecided but business is a possibility.”
GS: What are you most looking forward to when you get to the University of Minnesota?
SD: “Playing hockey!”
